Cultivating Psychological Safety in the Learning Environment

Psychological safety is a critical component of effective teaching and learning, influencing participant engagement and overall well-being. This comprehensive workshop is designed to equip trainers, leaders and staff who provide classroom and/or one-on-one training support with the knowledge, skills and strategies needed to cultivate psychological safety in the classroom and foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all participants.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Define the concept of psychological safety and its significance in educational settings.
  • Identify the key components of a psychologically safe learning environment.
  • Understand the impact of psychological safety on participant engagement, academic achievement and overall well-being.
  • Recognize the role of educators in fostering psychological safety and promoting inclusive practices in the classroom.
  • Explore strategies for addressing challenges and conflicts related to psychological safety in the learning environment.
  • Build trust, empathy and rapport with students to create a supportive and inclusive classroom culture.
  • Implement inclusive teaching practices and curriculum design to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Facilitate meaningful participant engagement and participation through active listening and open communication.
  • Develop conflict resolution skills to proactively address challenges and conflicts in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to implement psychological safety practices and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to creating an environment where all students feel valued, respected, and included.
  • Embrace diversity and promote equity by recognizing and addressing the unique needs and experiences of every student.
  • Foster empathy, understanding and acceptance among students to create a culture of respect and belonging.

Fee Details: The program enrollment fee is .06 training unit per person for those utilizing their county contract. If not using a county contract, the fee is $255.00 per person. The fee for a 1-day class, and it includes soft copy materials.

Training Format: This program will be offered via remote learning using Zoom. Login information will be provided after your enrollment is processed.

Substitutions can be done with a 48-hour minimum notice prior to the training start date. A 48-hour notice is needed to get all updated information processed.
