Results-based accountability (RBA) is a decision-making framework that starts with the ends and works its way backwards to develop the means. RBA also accounts for how successful the means are at delivering the desired ends.
We’ve all been frustrated by efforts that were all “talk” and no action. RBA is a process that moves from “talk” to action quickly. The RBA framework provides a common language and process for taking actions – actions that provide measurable improvements in the lives of children, families and the community. This 3-day workshop provides tools to help you create a common language and a common-sense process for quickly moving from “talk” to action that ultimately generates common ground. The importance of defining measurements and collecting data at the population level and the program performance level will also be provided.
Participants will:
- Define the terms of RBA: results, indicators, performance measures, turning the curve
- Understand the importance of data and learn simple data collection techniques
- Practice turning the curve exercises for a result the organization would like to achieve
- Practice answering the 7 questions of performance accountability
- Articulate the results your organization is trying to achieve
- Articulate how the programs your organization run contribute to that result with meaningful measures that prove your impact
