Secondary Traumatic Stress and the Child Welfare Supervisor

This training will provide supervisors with updated, evidence-based information on secondary trauma to assist with their day-to-day challenges, as well as larger issues that often emerge around trauma over the course of a supervisory career.

After attending this training, participants will be able to:

  • Identity and mitigate the impact of secondary trauma and other stressors that uniquely impact supervisors
  • Utilize additional tools and strategies to promote resilience and well-being in themselves and their workforce
  • Promote and protect the health of child welfare workers in the ultimate interest of promoting the safety and well-being of children and families in the child welfare system

Participants will be given multiple opportunities for group discussion and participation to encourage collaborative learning throughout and beyond this training.
