Principles of Supervision

Get a comprehensive overview of to the roles and responsibilities of the supervisor–planning, organization and staffing; directing at the supervisory level; legal issues; stress management; union environments; and quality concerns. The ability to carry out the role effectively as a supervisor is critical to the department’s ability to achieve its goals. As a supervisor, the work is done primarily with and through others. Learn concepts and skills for creating an inclusive environment that motivates staff, fosters teamwork and encourage communication. Supervisors will learn practical skills that are applicable immediately on the job to solve real workplace challenges.
