Exciting Updates to the California Wraparound Standards

The California Department of Social Services is excited to announce the updated California Wraparound Standards (DRAFT) as part of the CA Wraparound Standards Toolkit! The Standards are intended to clarify practice expectations with the goal of improving Wraparound fidelity across California.

California’s Wraparound Standards describe how to operationalize programs and services that reflect family-centered principles. Originally developed by a group of dedicated experts in 1999, the Standards were refined and updated in 2015 through All County Information Notice I-52-15 to reflect California’s growing experience and expertise with Wraparound. The latest update to the Standards builds on this historical work and includes new information that the Wraparound community will need in the coming months and years.

Take a Look!

We invite you to visit the CA Wraparound Standards Toolkit and review the updated CA Wraparound Standards.

The CA Wraparound Standards aid counties and providers as they prepare to meet the Aftercare requirements for the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) Part IV described in All County Letter 21-116. The Standards provide the foundation from which the county approval and provider certification process is based and will be included in the upcoming All County Letter. They will be helpful not only for counties implementing brand new programs, but also for those expanding their programs to meet the (FFPSA) Wraparound Aftercare requirement.

The Standards were updated in conjunction with the Wraparound Steering Committee, the Wraparound State Workgroups, the California Wraparound Advisory Committee (CWAC) and the UC Davis Resource Center for Family-Focused Practice. You can find the updated Standards in the California Wraparound Standards Toolkit, which also includes an abundance of Wraparound resources to implement Wraparound consistently and with high-fidelity across California, leading to improved outcomes for children and families involved in the System of Care.
